The Blu Dot Real Good Experiment
Have you ever found anything real good on the street? Most people would say no (unless you are obsessed with collecting found objects) and probably would be very skeptical if they did. When the furniture design company Blu Dot took a few real good chairs and placed them throughout the streets of New York, two spectacles took place. First, the personal spectacle between the potential unidentified new chair owner and the chair. What is with the chair? Do I take it? Does it belong to someone? These are all questions they asked. The second spectacle would be the spectacle of watching these people consider the chairs. It is really interesting how the same event can create two different spectacles solely based on perspective. I think throughout this class we'll need to consider perspective.
